| Born in Twickenham, England, 24.10.1962.As long as I can remember, I have always been interested in music.At the age of nine, I emigrated to Germany with my family and started to play guitar.When I was thirteen, I heard the 'Allman brothers Band / Live At Fillmore East' album and fell in love with the blues!'Statesboro Blues' & 'You Don't Love Me' were my favourite tracks.As from there, I started collecting as many blues recordings that I could get hold of!Everything just went on from there.....blues, rock 'n' roll, funk, soul or whatever!When I was seventeen I met Terry,our drummer.Since then, we have played in several bands together.About seven years ago, I formed a rock & blues trio with Terry and Robert Speier on bass and the band was called 'Nick Sparks & Dirty Fingers.'Robert played bass on the recordings that you can listen to on this site ("Great stuff, Robbie!").When Robert left the band we had a few other bass players, but nothing seemed to work out for long until we teamed up with Ulli 'Blind Bat' Müllers!Blind from birth, Ulli is a great musician and an even greater person!Terry and Ulli both really let off steam!When playing together, we rely on groove, feeling and dynamics,always leaving enough room for improvisation.Keeping everything as simple as possible, we use glances and shouts to communicate with each other, especially when we perform live!More often than not, the last set of a Red House gig turns into a jam session!So, if you ever come to one of our gigs, you're a musician and you're into the same kind of music, maybe you'll get the chance to hop up on stage and jam with us!As far as my equipment is concerned, I'm a 'Fender freak!'I play a '1960 Reissue Strat'(when it's not in the 'pawn-shop!') and a 'Blues Deluxe' amp(tubes, 40 watts)!We prefer to keep everything as basic and as simple as possible, apart from a bit of reverb and my wah wah, we don't use sound effects!Check us out, send us a comment, or even better, come and see us perform live!Maybe we'll have a beer together after the gig, "Rock on!"
