About Me

To the Official Nickelback website, click here Portraits of Elegance Fine Arts and Photography The paintings and photography I'm showing here are some samples of what I do for art. The movie stars and music stars, I did not do the photography. I painted a few paintings from some of their press photos, because I enjoy their movies, music and think a lot of them as people. With that one exception, all the artwork you see is what I have created or photographed. .. .. I am a "Natural Life" artist and photographer. I look for the true essence of who or what I am painting or photographing. Special talents, emotions, expressions, color, light, reflection and most of all, I really look for the passion within. Art is a reflection of one moment in time, through the artist's eyes. The finished art piece tells a story. When art is created from deep within the heart, the masterpiece is a reflection of the soul. I began shooting a camera 28 years ago, as a photographer for the yearbook at my highschool in Austin, Texas and have never put my camera down since. Since that time, I have become a mixed media graphics artist, plus a wife and mom for 25 years. My thoughts on how art and music are one: Truly great music will reach out and hold you. It is then, when it becomes a part of you and will stay with you forever. With my fine arts paintings and photography, that holding grip is what I try to emphasize in my art. Art provokes feelings and emotions when it is viewed. Art is very much like music. Music is timeless and lasting. It really hits home when it is done just right and that is the way I see life through my art. I strive for my art to be timeless with that same lasting grip. When you see my art work, I want it to stand out so powerful and unique that it stays with you. Just the way that a really great song will stay. From just one moment comes "A Masterpiece of Life." As a decendent of one of the families of the Chitimacha tribe in Houma, Louisiana, tracing our family heritage explained the natural connection I have instinctivly with nature and art. Even some of my family members are completely amazed at some of the things that I am able to do with wildlife here in the wilderness, where I call home and the way I see and create things through my art.
