Wrote this one night while I was in a deep state of being. It kinda 'wrote itself', if you take my meaning. Like all true things in life, I believe. 'It's my moon tonight. You might see it too, but my moon's not for you. If I could share it I would, but we all see our own side that's good. It reflects to me, a different beam, what seems to me to you won't seem. It knows me well, and I know it, it's seen my tears and it stayed lit. It saw my eyes, before you did, it saw my fears but never hid. It's seen the best day of my life, and before I have it's seen my wife. It will see things that I won't, regardless if I do or don't. And when my years come to an end, it will still be my true friend. It's there for anyone who cares, there for anyone who stares. Your moon is yours and mine is not, we all sleep in a different spot. If I could share the moon I would, but we all see our own side that's good'. |
