NEW PAINTING POOKIE I earned my Associates Degree in Graphic Design at Bradley Academy for the Visual Arts, in York, PA. I have created logos, painted wall murals, designed t-shirts, and taught myself calligraphy. I currently produce and sell acrylic paintings that explore a range of subjects; the human figure, architecture and still life- with a style that combines realism and abstraction through vivid color. As an artist and framer, I'm looking for an opportunity to expand and grow. I sometimes paint and draw using my hands and fingers to apply the medium, continuing throughout the painting, using my fingers to deliver paint for color, shape, line, shading & texture, ....to me, this is very therapeutic and gratifying. This is the foundation of my work. Being an art consultant and custom framer, I have an appreciation and respect for the many talented people that have crossed my path. People who have inspired me, that have opened my eyes and heart. People that have moved me to tears or provoked the outburst of laughter in me. I plan on leaving York someday. The world is at my fingertips. Dont know where im going, only know where i've been. most of the time. Lots to see, lots to explore.

IMAGINE: The spectrum of color seen in the mist of a waterfall, cascading down a beautiful mountaintop or the gentle curves of a human body in the soft radiant light cast from a flame. IMAGINE: Lying in a field of tall grasses and feeling the suns warmth upon your face, the pronounced essence of the flowers that silently blow in the tender breeze. Close Your Eyes. Silence surrounds you, you feel a deep sense of tranquility inside and suddenly you are aware of all your senses. You never want to leave this perfect haven, for this is what it is truely about. This is my inner self, this is my vision and my dream. This is what awakens the fire in my soul; the sweet music that fills my ears; the thirst that quenches me, and the magnificent colors that stimulate me. .......I want to reach out and touch it. I am deeply inspired by all that surrounds me and long to capture it for eternity. My attempt to express the beauty that I not only see, and feel, has not only become my creative outlet of expression but, my ambition of passionate pursuit. Painting and drawing are to me, the air that I breathe. Without it, I could not live. LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE!! |

creating art, custom framing, visiting art galleries, and chillin with friends. I love music and cooking a great dish. Climbing a mountain and sitting at the top and looking out over the beautiful scenery is breathtaking. A good thunderstorm, gardening, planting flowers, vegetables, herbs.... something about digging in the dirt. Vibrant colors. Snow, and lots of it. Of course, painting... sometimes I forget to eat, when I'm in the midst of creating. Shredding paper. My childrens complicated lives. Frogs. Meeting new and interesting people. Mornings. Maps of all kinds. My friends. Cleaning up cat fur balls. Dreaming. Calvin and Hobbes. I enjoy going to museums, and galleries. Coloring my hair different colors. Watching stupid people. Watching good movies. Listening to the blues, specially live. Lots of caffeine so I can clean my house like mad. I love cooking and trying new dishes. I am my own worse critic. Riding unicycles...I can't juggle tho. Belly dancing. Drumming circles. I love to hike and camp. My sick sense of humor. Reading the thesaurus. Angels. Riding Harleys. Splashing in puddles. Laughing till my side hurts. Making others laugh. Creeks. I also find solace in trout fishing, believe it or not. Climbing mountains and finding waterfalls. I'm the one thats usually IN the waterfall, not looking at it from the side. Exploring new places, new things. And lastly, my passion for playing the piano. |
