BLITCH vs D’ELIA “LOOSEHEADZ” THE NEW BAND – A NEW FUCKIN’ CHALLENGE “End of August 2003: at that time there were two members of Loose Headz: Alex D’Elia and Chris Shape. I met this crazy pair, at a time when they had just finished recording the basis of that potential new singles. The song: “Like this” (Prolifica) considered by the critics to have the potential to take the most important club Chart by storm”. Alex D’Elia is now 28 and was sucked into the ferment and florid whirlwind generated by the innovative and evolving bands who stemmed from the English music scene at the age of 20. Thanks go to the influence of his sister, for fuck's sake! Yes, exactly, I believe his sister's legacy has been to introduce him to the almost Mystical medium which is Anglo-Saxon music. Today, this sound is starting to re-emerge, its influences thrumming on the borders between Hip Hop, House and Techno. Their version Dub, from some the tunes I have listened to, just blew me away! Also, thanks to meticulous research into samples and cuts, right away they seemed to me to be among the most experimental groups of their genre. Alex defines himself as a D.J., the modest, son of a bitch! There's no way he is just a DJ for fuck's sake… He's a mechanic of sound!!. My name is Blitch, Ottaviano Blitch. Well, the sub-plot to this story is that basically , this was a pretty shit time for me. I was about to cut myself off completely from all my useless contacts who turned out to be useless in the general musical & creative depression which followed September 11. I’m 33 at the moment. From when I was young, I listed to music ranging from Public Enemy to the Beastie Boys, from The Stoodges and the fucking genius of Iggy Pop to Siouxie and the Banshees, from Denver the flying elephant to Paolo Conte, or from The Cocteau Twins to the mythical Bryan Ferry & the Roxy Music. I’ve always lived between Milan and London and I have always thought that there's no city like it, with their musical contradictions and innovations it's always been the point of reference for soloists and overall bands. So, in 2001, someone gave me an old 6-track, which helped me to interpret the emerging English style. That some day the film about the life of the Sex Pistols and Sid Vicious was released: “The filth and the fury”. This gone Sid Vicious first hand account of their life and success. I was affected by the decline of this band and to see Rotten on the “Winterland” stage screaming: “No fun's no fun!!”. The impact of this film helped to see in myself and to externalise this self-discovery, expressing all that I was feeling it made me understand and accept how I had been feeling without a second thought. So.... I started to write and play: my brand-new “No fun” on the guitar and I recorded this track on the beat up old recorder I had happened to receive that someday. I then met up with my old friend Axl P, an Italian D.J., who introduced me to a couple of cool guys who were searching for a new voice for the band: the Loose Headz. This meeting brought together a strange alchemical mix that we had never thought of trying before. An experimenter of samples and sounds like Alex and a chameleon showman like myself. We were ready to compare and experiment a new way, which would result, from the very first time in an authentic and believable style. For this reason I played a new acoustic version of “No fun”, but then together we created our own “No fun”. Whilst drunk at a private party in London, I met some other pissheads who asked me to play at Club Embassy for the presentation of incredible calendar. We accepted this offer and played on stage in front of an audience including Journalists who were very interested in us. We felt our sound was finally being appreciated by the public at large. I had worked in the world of dance, I had sung, played the guitar, I had acted and ever done some voice-overs, so I came to realise that when all these experiences and elements of myself were brought together, mixed together, well the sum total was who I found myself to be. I got in touch with all my old contacts. Including Andrea Giannattasio, a young Italian cinematographer, who proposed that we made a music video for one of our singles together. The idea seemed a little insane but in the cold February of 2005 started recording the video for “No fun”. We had never questioned our artistic style but we did everything we could to be simply as fluid and original as possible. The tunes on the Loose Headz go from being 3dimensional, futuristic tracks to recalling the unique melodies which cannot be categorised. We hate to be remote-controlled!! We two together are Loose Headz!!! -BLITCH-
Alex D'Elia was born in Riccione, one of the most important places of the italian night entertainment... His passion for music and his sister's records collection drove him to start djing at 13. He partecipated at the scratch competition at 15, at the same time he worked in little clubs. In the meanwhile Alex's passion for music got bigger and bigger, so he built his first midi home studio in his own room. He started his first discographic project with a friend P.F.Z "Love into the Future", published on the famous swiss compilation: DJ Energy Parade. Then he knew Andrea Doria: they started collaborations on various projects, Avalone One "La onda del ritmo" (with Ramirez on vocals) was one of them. Another one is Atlantis Ita "See you in the next life", they had a great acknowledgment at Age One an English label managed by Dino Lenny. The record had a big success in clubs and was published on the Millenium compilation (created for the new millenium coming, mixed by Pete Tong & Fat Boy Slim). Then Alex produced many other projects, the most famous one is "Isn't life wonderful?", out on IDJ (Incentive Group). The song became a real success (mostly in the english clubs) and was immediately published on the Ministry of Sound compilation. Constant experimental research, passion for every kind of music and curiosity for samples digital manipulation made him and Chris Shape start another famous project: Looseheadz.

OTTAVIANO BLITCH is not just a charismatic frontman, but it's now a brilliant Actor as well. An extraordinarily talented artist, with a consolidated body expression and an acting style that is truly international. An authentic taste and real bent for composition linked to the world of music. A thrilling and extremely good-looking artist, as seen in his latest live performance on the stage of the Embassy Club in London. Fellini’s and Claudia Cardinale’s photographer, Fiorenzo Niccoli, immortalized him in black and white in his “Timeless Portraits”, capturing a huge variety of nuances, ranging from the most romantic lightness to deep introspection, from the tragicomedy of farce to the intensity of drama. Constant as well as rigorous and remarkable physical training and a multi-faceted acting mask. A well-disciplined and harmonious body, which expresses itself through his explicit admiration for the wonderful period of the Renaissance, but that remains tied to exciting facial expression. Ottaviano: Simply Unique.
