| Detagoh (pronounced Day-TAH-go) was formed in Cleveland,OH by PJ Anderson and John Pacini in 1999. Relocating to Chicago, Anderson and Pacini were quickly joined by some of Chicago’s top musicians helping to create an original sound that is hard to categorize. Drawing from many different styles of music including pop, Latin, blues and jazz, Detagoh has begun to build a following in the college and young adult audience enabling them to play to packed clubs throughout Chicago.PJ Anderson, the lead singer, was out of the country for most of last year allowing several of the original members to retool the group and give the band a more diverse sound. The current line-up includes violin, piano, harmonica, electric and acoustic guitar, bass and drums. The band in the current form has been performing only since June of 2005 and is really on the move.Detagoh has packed clubs all over the city of Chicago including House of Blues and Double Door and are working to expand to other areas as well. Their first studio album, "Fly To June" is just the first taste of what is to come."Fly To June is available on iTunes and CDbaby.com.Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Detagoh around Chicago! Some of the members are professional jazz musicians others are more versed in Rock and classical.Influences include bands like Van Morrison, Phish, Grateful Dead, Allman Brothers, Rolling Stones, Chick Corea, Roy Haynes, Danilo Perez, Velvet Underground, The Band, Flaming Lips, The Beatles, Elton John, Ben Folds Five, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Martin Sexton, Howard Levy, and well, really anything that hasnt caused us to change the station immediately after it comes on the radio!
