Quené is a solo artist who performs accompanied by a talented live band along with background singers and dancers. Influences: Quene has been influenced by several factors throughout her lifetime. She recalls being a little girl and remembers watching a Smokey Robinson concert, staring in awe thinking, "That's what I'm supposed to do". Ever since then she's been perfecting her craft as a singer/songwriter. Quene has always loved listening to Earth Wind and Fire and when she was nine years old she fell in love with Whitney Houston who inspired Quene to sing, sing, sing. The years have exposed Quene to many other talented entertainers. Shirley Murdock, Rachelle Farelle and Gwen McCrae are a few of the women who have influenced her as an entertainer. Lately it has been the extraordinary talents of the infamous Tina Turner which have impacted Quene. "I love music!" Quene says, "I feel, sleep and breathe music!!" Sounds Like: Nothing you've ever heard before. Quené has a style that can only be characterized as unique. Her music has the essence of the past and the attitude of today. Quené incorporates Jazz, Funk, Rock, and Hip Hop into a delightful symphony. Her voice soars through the sky. It has been described as soulful and angelic. Type of Label: None |
