| After graduating Bradford High school in 78, I worked as a draftsman in various towns in the fox valley of Wisconsin when there was an opportunity during the Mariel Boat Lift to feed Cuban refugees at Fort McCoy in Sparta, WI. Being exposed to other peoples' need affected my life even though daily life of work and school resumed in the fall of 1980. While working for a company that made water treatment equipment, I obtained a certificate in HVAC from MSOE , was a part of a study group of the Pastoral Letter on Catholic Social Teaching and the U.S. Economy at the cathedral parish of Milwaukee and tutored english with Hmong and Laotian immigrants. During a study abroad semester at Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace at Hebrew University of Jerusalem I had an internship with United Nations Relief and Works Agency ( UNRWA ) for the Palestinian refugees. After receiving Bachelor's majoring in international relations I was a novice with Catholic missionary group, the Xaverian Missionaries , in Italy working with eastern European refugees the year the Berlin wall came down. During graduate school , I was allowed to intern in New York at the UN in Office of Public Information for non-governmental organizations ( NGO ) while rehabbing a house from the Sisters of Charity in Harlem with the Christian Brothers . After receiving a scholorship for Arabic Studies at UIC I worked in inter-religious dialogue. Since completing master’s, I was asked to prepare sisters for service in a Muslim section of Africa with Holy Spirit Missionaries in 94 then worked with the Council For a Parliment of the World's Religions ( CPWR ) and in Mexico until leaving community life. I married a fine woman with six children and have been working since then to support and raise a family while welcoming two grandchildren into our life. The last ten years of family life have developed my capacity to self-giving, love and service. My business experience in primarily the finance, and insurance sectors builds upon administrative work for international and non-profit organizations.
