As a little girl, I used to sit and watch my grandmother crochet for hours. Those are some of my fondest memories of her. She taught me to finger crochet at 5 years old. Shortly after that she taught me to crochet a chain with a hook and I've been been crocheting passionately and obsessively ever since. Yes, I do believe obsession is the correct term to use in my case. Whenever I meet someone I immediately begin to think of the perfect crocheted gift for them. All these years crocheting and I don't have many of my creations around me. I've given them all away. I find my greatest joy in being able to give to others. I guess that is why I've had so much practice making these angels. Angels go with most any occasion. Angels symbolize hope and protection, therefore they go with everything. I've made bridal angels and angels for a new baby, new car, new job, new home, birthday, and anniversaries. I've made them as a memorial for the death of a loved one and of course, I've made many as Christmas ornaments. They can be personalized, made in a variety of colors of thread and beads. The charms they hold also help symbolize a special event or further personalize them. Over the years, I've gotten into the habit of making my crochet experience into something meditative and spiritual. I pour love, joy and light into every stitch. Sometimes I can even imagine I see a thread of love or joy intertwining with the thread as I stitch. Each project and gift I make has become a very special symbol of the love, joy and peace I wish to share with others. I hope you will join me here often and that you will feel comfortable here.
