| Shant Bajaxezian is a guitarist, composer & teacher dividing his time between his band, his private students & composing music. Over his career in music, Shant joined many well known local bands, taught with Lebanon's top classical guitarist Joseph Ishkhanian, & won a valuable 2nd prize in Hard Rock Café Clash Of The Guitars in 2002.
Born & raised in Lebanon, Shant picked up the guitar at the age of 13 inspired by his elder brother Vicken who was a bass player in a local rock band. Few months later Vicken bought an electric guitar for his motivated young brother & from that date Shant never put his axe down.
In 1997, the 16 years old Shant joined a talented metal band called Blaakyum but couldn't keep up with them & left the band.
In 2000 Shant joined a classic rock band called Silverwave & played many concerts & gigs & won a valuable 1st prize in a band competition. After three years of hard work, the relation with Silverwave ran its course & Shant left to form a pop rock band called M.A.S.K. in 2002.
It took only few weeks for M.A.S.K to become one of the most known pop rock bands in Lebanon & win a valuable Most Promising Band prize & Best Original Song prize in Hard Rock Café Clash Of The Bands. M.A.S.K. played in Fall RockFest in 2002 & Rock Nation in 2003 & announced their split.
In winter 2003 Shant joined Route66, a metal band with very famous local musicians & played in many big events like Metal Mania in 2003, Spring RockFest & Fall RockFest in 2004.
After the split of Route66 in 2004, Shant joined an alternative rock band called Soul Active & played many gigs & hit the studio. Shant couldn't keep up with the band & quit in 2005.
Actually, Shant is playing with Escape, a very active pop rock band with a very busy schedule. Playing with different bands in different styles shows the versatility of this musician who grew up listening to all kinds of music. His work is a mixture of everything he absorbed through the years trying to come up with something original everybody can listen to. His favorite artsists are Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Marty Friedman, Guthrie Govan, Andy Timmons, Pat Metheny, Larry Carlton, Yanni & Kitaro.
