| ++ DEUTSCHE VERSION ++ Crayon Phase ist ein Neo-Progressive Rock Projekt aus dem Ruhrgebiet, welches Frank Wendel im Sommer 2007 gestartet hat. "Neben der eigentlichen Tätigkeit als Schlagzeuger bei meiner Hauptband Sabatronic Fuzz bin ich schon länger dabei, eigene existierende Ideen erstmalig eigenständig via Homerecording ohne Kompromisse aufzunehmen. In erster Linie sind das unveröffentliche Sachen aus alter Zeit, die ich gemixt mit neuen Ideen zu neuen Songs entstehen lassen möchte. Ich bin weder Keyboarder, noch Gitarrist, aber die Möglichkeit, die Abläufe in Eigenregie erschaffen zu können, hat mich dann doch dazu bewogen, alles in einem ersten Schritt alleine gemäß meiner Möglichkeiten umzusetzen. Das zunächst geplante "Promoalbum" soll dann auch erstmal dazu dienen, anderen, interessierten Musikern die Ideen besser veranschaulichen und eventuell zu einer Projektarbeit mitbewegen zu können. Ich würde mich dann in einer zweiten Stufe umso mehr darüber freuen, wenn ein Ideenaustausch auf Basis von vorhandenen Stücken stattfinden und jedes Mitglied seinen eigenen Stil miteinfliessen lassen würde. Das hier veröffentliche Songmaterial sind aktuell erste Demosongs, alles andere als perfekt und gibt lediglich eine erste Richtung vor, in der ich mich hinbewegen möchte. Ich bin ständig bemüht, die Sachen weiter auszubauen, bis sie denn mal den Level erreicht haben, den ich mir persönlich auch gesetzt habe." ++ ENGLISH VERSION ++ Crayon phase is a neo-progressive rock project located in the Ruhr district in Germany, which Frank Wendel started in the summer 2007. “Apart from the actual activity as a drummer in my main band Sabatronic Fuzz, I am for the first time about to record my own existing ideas independently, without compromises via homerecording. Primarily it’s a matter of unpublished pieces from a long time ago, which I would like to mix with new ideas in order to create new songs. I am neither a keyboarder, nor a guitarist, but the possibility of being able to create the course of action under my own direction persuaded me to implement everything in a first step alone, according with my possibilities. For a start, a so called “Promoalbum” should illustrate my ideas to other interested musicians and maybe get them intrigued to enlist into the project. All the more I would be pleased, if in a second step an exchange of ideas on the base of existing pieces would happen and each members own style could flow into the songs. On this site, the published songs here only show a small up-to-date demo version, it’s by far not perfect and should only point out, where I want to go at first. I am constantly exerted to remove the things further until they reach a level I also set for myself.” |
