My name is Holly Rains, and I am an active drummer. I am always on the lookout for new projects/opportunities so please do not hesitate to ask if you are interested in collaborating. My accomplishments as a drummer, so far, are as follows: KEYDRAGON is a Gothic Metal band based in Northern California. In 2008, I signed on to record drums for the group's 7th album titled, 'Dragon Mythos'. I hope to work with KeyDragon on many albums to come! Visit www.myspace.com/keydragon or www.keydragon.com DRIVER is a variety cover band specializing in Classic Rock and Funk, mainly. We aren't playing too many shows these days but, we're just your common bar band. This band is really where I got my start as a drummer; if not for this group, I would have never acquired the attributes I possess today. I played with a Metal/Jazz/Experimental group, WALKING VOID, for about a year. Visit www.myspace.com/walkingvoid and see what those guys are all about. Born in May of 1985, my musical journey began when I picked up a guitar at the age of eight. I dedicated myself to the instrument for many years. When I was sixteen, I participated in the famous battle of all ego-maniacs, Guitar Center's 'Guitarmageddon'. I managed to snatch up the first place spot in the Bakersfield store preliminaries, however I failed to deliver at the store finals and unfortunately was not able to advance any further in the competition... which means I didn't win the car... Life goes on... Somewhere in the middle of all that, I noticed I had become somewhat... arrogant. So I decided to take a break from the guitar, step back and just play music for ME and for fun- I no longer wanted to use it as means to prove myself in any way. It was about this time when I first sat behind a drumset- aside from the Muppet Babies kit my parents bought me when I was 3- I immediately took a liking to the instrument and immediately discovered I could keep a beat. After that, it was all over for me- I had caught the Drum Stoke. So I guess I technically started drumming when I was about seventeen. I still pick up a guitar every now and then but I TRULY found solace in drumming. I use PDP drums and Zildjian cymbals.

Vanessa Carlton cover, "Private Radio". Abe Laboriel Jr. played this tune on the album. One of my idols! Cream cover, "Sunshine of Your Love" performed by my cover band, DRIVER... that's my dad on the guitar and vocals! "The Jazz Hole" by Walking Void. Me on the drums.
