| When she was fourteen, Ashley Matte locked herself in her bedroom determined to play the guitar. While her smooth sounds are deeply influenced by her favorites, Sarah McLachlan and Bonnie Raitt, Ashley has developed her own uniqueness for performing and a talent for songwriting. When she moved to San Diego nearly 4 years ago, Ashley began playing immediately at local venues in Pacific Beach and popular places downtown. She quickly gathered a strong following for her music and as a result, Coach House Records made her an offer she could not refuse--her very own record deal! Since finishing her album "Colors" which is now out in stores, Ashley has shared the stage with national acts such as Sophie B. Hawkins, Gavin Degraw, Chris Isaak, Dishwalla, and Linda Perry. She also plans to share her music with local charities to help fund many community programs needed throughout southern California. Ashley is currently in the studio working on her new album. We hope to get it out by January 2007, so please stay tuned! | |
