| Hi i’m Mike, a 30 year old guitarist from a little town called Warrington near Liverpool. I’ve been playing guitar for a little over 10 years now. I first got the guitar bug when I was 16 and was moving back and forth between Blackburn and Warrington.I got to know a friend who was into the music of Pink Floyd and who would play their albums over and over. Something about Gilmours’ playing hit me immediately. Then, whilst I was back in Blackburn I happened to walk past a small music store with a Strat in the window. That was it – I wanted to be a guitarist.It would be a further 3 years before I got my first guitar, but from then on there was no stopping me! I joined the ‘Access To Music’ foundation course at Warrington college. Whilst there I set up my first real band 'Chapter 24' with Mike Hadland and Ian Bennett amongst others. We had some good times but the band became defunct once we'd finished our course. After 2 years hard work was awarded an advanced diploma in popular musics. Whilst there I was tutored in guitar and performance by Tony Thorpe – former guitarist with 70’s group ‘The Rubettes’.Since that course ended i’ve been to University and am now trying to set up a blues rock band so hopefully I can hit the stage again.If anyone wants to set up a blues rock band in the Warrington area let me know!!!
