| Lifelong musician, who got lucky by finding the incredibly music savvy Kirsten Smith, who later agreed to take my last name.Was born on a brisk Saturday afternoon October 7th @ 1:10pm (just before kick-off of a Georgia Bulldog game).First musical knocks came singing with my family,"The Singing Kings" as they were known,in various functions around the south. Attended North Georgia School of Gospel Music from 1984 to 1988. Was a guitarist/vocalist of Athens, GA early 90's folk/jam/rock band In Like Flynn (what a mix). ILF releasd two Albums in the early 90's. Enjoyed a modicum of success until 1996, when we called it quits. Went on to man the drumset (my first love)for Athens Ga. veterans Bloodkin. Bloodkin is well known throughout the south as a notorious, bad-ass rock 'n' roll band, as well as for lending their songs to Widespread Panic (arena rock gods). Toured the US many times, recorded 3 albums with Bloodkin from 1997 till 2006. Currently working on material for Slaphappy, the musical outfit formed by myself and Larry Acquaviva. I am also a slient movie buff with a penchant for anything that Louise Brooks was in. I also morph into Juan Valium, the "weirdo-pill popping, percussion gangsta" anytime i play with NO HAY BANDA, the best fucking band i have heard all day.....newly a singer/guitarist for the Charlottesville band Earl Knox ... check us out ! | |
