With classic, yet progressive guitar melodies, a spastic rhythm section, and vocal stylings touching on hyperactivity and pure (and impure) human emotion, THE RINGERS offer a wide range of something you’ve never heard but want to hear over and over. Some call it “Indie,” others “punk rock,” but THE RINGERS can only describe the sound and overall attitude as “in your face Rock and Roll.” Vocalist Joe Hursley formed the band with bassist Joe Stiteler in late 2004 and since have inducted guitarist Joe Robinson and drummer Patrick Hursley into a brotherhood known as THE RINGERS. With the release of debut album Tokyo Massage III in 2006, THE RINGERS toured throughout the United States, including several explosive visits to SXSW in J. Hursley’s hometown of Austin, TX. Playing alongside inspirational acts such as New York Dolls, Valient Thorr, Eagles of Death Metal, Authority Zero, Bullets and Octane, and many others, THE RINGERS found their calling as ruthless entertainers and answers to the Rock and Roll party gods. Early 2008, THE RINGERS entered the studio with Producer Dave Cobb to record a more musically and lyrically adventurous sophomore album entitled Headlocks and Highkicks. This 13-track slammer touches on subjects spanning from drug addicted hotel neighbors (“Rough in the Diamond”) to sex obsessed religious figures (“Holy Zipper”) to love on the streets of New York City (“Hello My Dear.”) Set to release on Ft. Mason Records early fall of 2008, Headlocks and Highkicks introduces a turning point in not only the band’s career, but a new outlook on what Rock and Roll is becoming.
