| Register and vote for me! Shevon Cunningham was born April 24th 1983 in St. Catherine on the carribean island of Jamaica. He was a skinny kid who dreamed of becoming a boxer. So he left Jamaica at the age of 16 years old to come to the United States to pursue his dream and to escape the poverty. At the age of 17 years old he started working at a sneaker store to earn enough money for a gym membership. He then joined the Diamond gym in Queens, NY and started working out to gain weight. He would train 5 days a week in hopes of putting on more size. That is where his determination proved to be beneficial to him. He went on to gain 15 pounds going from 135lbs to 150 pounds without the help of supplements because he knew nothing of them. That is until a few gym buddies introduced him to some supplements. He tried a few and went from 150 to 185 pounds in about six months. By this time he grew more and more interested in bodybuilding as he had made friends from the gym who were already doing it. He entered his first competition at the age of 22 yrs old. It was a competition held by the gym itself. Shevon walked away with the first place trophy and a trophy for best body. Now he was beginning to focus on a even bigger dream; bodybuilding! He loved being in the gym and that first competition made him want to take it further. He later signed up for a INBF show in Long Island, NY in September of 2006 at a local University. There he took 1st place in his weight class then went on to take the overall and the best arms trophy. This was just the start of the many wins won by this phenomenal athlete. Presently Shevon is training for upcoming shows and is excited by his June 2007 victory in receiving his WNBF pro card. Shevon looks forward to competing and his motto is "I am always under construction". He says that for him there is no "off season", he is always trying to improve hisself. His current weight is 195 and he follows a strict diet and weight training regime. He is currently working on his personal training certification. |
