| www.myspaceeditor.it BLU:ZTEP exist since 2005 when the band Blues Step, founded by guitarist Davide Pirodda, after more then 10 years of performances in Sardinia and Itlay, getting favourable opinions by national critics and audience, taking part in several national Festivals (Pistoia Blues 2003, Narcao Blues 2003-2004), decided to start on a new journey inside the blues, watching it from another point of view, from another perspective, changing his skin....an experimental skin...giving special prominence to musical research...the new way is the marriage between the Blues and other musical styles such as Jazz, Funk, 70’s Rock, Rock’n Roll, 60’s Psychedelic music, Progressive...in this way BLU:ZTEP begin to take shape as “alternative blues” band, featuring a modern style, a new way of playing the blues, crossing over it, living it,.. In 2006 BLU:ZTEP opened Eric Sardinas live show at “Narcao Blues Festival” obtaining an important review in “Buscadero”, an italian specialized blues magazine... In 2008 Andrea Locci (bass and lyrics), Davide Pirodda (guitars), Alberto Murru (vocals and guitars) give birth to “..thingz gotta happen”, BLU:ZTEP’s first album, 9 tracks drawing a careful analysis to the blues... Actually The band has Angelo Collu on drums, to show a powerful but elaborate, hard but smart, strong and heavy but easy...with Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Wonder always on their mind...summer is coming and BLU:ZTEP are ready to play everywhere... BLU:ZTEP è un progetto esistente dal 2005, quando il gruppo BLUES STEP, nato nel 1998 da un’idea del chitarrista DAVIDE PIRODDA, dopo aver per oltre un decennio ottenuto importanti consensi da parte della critica isolana e del pubblico nazionale, partecipando anche al ’PISTOIA BLUES FESTIVAL’ nel 2003, decide di intraprendere un nuovo viaggio all’interno del blues ma da un’altro punto di vista, ponendosi sotto un’altra prospettiva, vestendosi di una nuova pelle, quella della sperimentazione e della ricerca, del connubio tra il blues e altri generi musicali quali il Jazz, la Fusion, il Funk, il Rock 70’s, il Rock’n Roll, la Psichedelia, il Progressive...ecco quindi prendere la forma e le connotazioni di gruppo che ama definirsi "Alternative Blues", ossia interprete di uno stile moderno, di un modo nuovo di suonare il blues e di attraversarlo, oltre che di pensarlo e viverlo...un vero e proprio "crossing over the blues" (il nome del gruppo fornisce un indizio sulle presunte intenzioni della band), con uno sguardo attento al bagaglio musicale, alle conscenze tecniche e culturali che ANDREA LOCCI (basso), DAVIDE PIRODDA (chitarre)e ALBERTO MURRU (voce e chitarre) hanno maturato in anni di esibizioni ed esperienze live e di studio con tante altre realtà dell’isola prima di concepire questa nuova creatura...dopo aver preso parte in Sardegna a Festival del calibro di ’NARCAO BLUES’, ’DROMOS’ e ’EMMAS’ partoriscono nel 2008, dopo un anno e mezzo di lavoro presso gli studi di registrazione ’AUDIOSTUDIO PIERPAOLO MELONI’ a Sestu (CA), l’album ’...thingz gotta happen’ con cui si propongono oggi all’attenzione della critica isolana e nazionale sperando di potersi poi confrontare con il pubblico europeo e d’oltreoceano, (da cui la scelta della lingua inglese) con una formazione che punta su un live energico pur se raffinato, vigoroso ma agile al tempo stesso, avvalendosi della collaborazione del batterista ANGELO COLLU, ora parte integrante del gruppo...l’estate 2008 è alle porte e i BLU:ZTEP continuano il loro strano viaggio attraverso il blues con il tour ’...thingz gotta happen’ che li vedrà sul palco a interpretare brani originali, non disdegnando affatto di citare attraverso qualche cover rivisitata grandi artisti quali Hendrix, Vaughan e Wonder...buon ascolto |
