| Sam Power Orchestra - Lights & Shadows
There are two sides in our being - bright and dark. Sam Power Orchestra is all about that. Our music and the things we do represent both sides. There's black and white, shadows and lights - contrasts and contradictions. What falls in the middle is so called grey area and that's where the true mystery lies. Although there's black and white, there's no absolute wrong or right. In the end we all make the choices that just feel good - trying to balance between light and shadow. There comes a day when something bad turns to good - dark turns to light, and the other way around. The world isn't so black and white as we think; our strengths can also be our weaknesses and our weaknesses can be our strengths. In the case of S.P.O., often, the music rises from darkness. Still, we tend to give glimpses of hope in form or another (being a bunch of dorks or something like that). It's just too damn boring to be defined by one thing. Maybe it reflects from our music too... Sam Power Orchestra might be full of contradictions because of its different sides, and you know what - we don't hide it! We are dorks & ponderers, idiots & intellectuals, insecure & confident, superficial & profound, ugly & beautiful, cold & warm, proud & humble, distant & close, brutal & sophisticated, callous & passionate - we just ARE. If the music we do makes you FEEL and think, we have reached our goals. Our art tells you that you're not alone in this crazy maze of life and that's the ultimate hope. We all need hope.
