| After local success playing in rock duo "After Dark" Lofty, a guitar tutor by trade and with 15 years of experience, formed a rock covers band with drummer Paul, who has extensive experience playing in bands over the last couple of decades and has never been far from his Gretsch drum kit and bass player Baz from a local Rock Group...... With the inclusion of the stunning vocal talents of Jen, who had previously sung with the band "Heaven Ascent", the band's repertoire moved increasingly towards the music of Evanescence. The mixture of heavy power chords, complex drum patterns and haunting vocals produce a unique sound which present a unique challenge in terms of replicating their 'sound' and feel. In order to do this music justice, the band decided to reform, with the loss of Baz, focussing solely on reproducing the music of Evanescence and 'My Immortal' was born. Auditions followed to fill in the gaps and Matthew, with his collection of basses and t-shirts, and Bill with his kooky style and extensive rock/metal versatility joined the band. Hannah joined recently and although being a drummer and guitarist is focussing on providing that classic piano and keys sound. Dave with his enthusiasm for the music and his frankly astounding drumming was the final addition to form the current line-up. The band are currently practising together in rehearsal rooms in Birmingham and working hard to produce an extensive set list of the music of Evanescence that will work in a live setting..... They will only be gigging when they have something worthy to give to their audience, so watch this space! |
