| Willie Panama, singer/songwriter, percussionist and actor was born in The Republic of PANAMA . This Star seems to have it all: appearance,personality,poise,confidence, and stage presence. To watch him live as he improvises and spontaneously spark the ambience, will turn any viewer into a participant, and any listener into a dancer boosting the mood of any audience. Willie Panama takes a lot of PRIDE in his Spanish West Indian Cultural Heritage, calling himself The Ragamofin de la Salsa. No sooner did Willie enter the United States when he joined the U.S. Marines Corps in 1978, he proceeded through his training at the U.S. Naval Training Center in Mississippi and graduated in Aviation Maintenance. Upon completion of his military term, Willie was presented with Two Meritorious Awards, One Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and Two Good Conduct Medals. He continued his education at John Jay Criminal College in New York and then joined The U.S Deparment of Justice in the Criminal Division of Criminal Deportation of INS. However, Willie's ambitions in the realm of show business will not be denied. He has assembled a host of show business credits trough the years; namely his performance as a bodyguard for Oscar Winner Denzel Washington in the film "Malcom X" directed by legendary Spike Lee, The film "Any Given Sunday" directed by celebrated Oliver Stone as standing extra for Oscar Winner Jamie Foxx and Bill Bellamy, and The film "Chat" directed by Robert Seoane as an extra in the movie. Morever, Willie has performed background vocals with well known artists. In addition he has guest performed with Ruben Blades, Los Van Van de Cuba, Oscar D Leon, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Jose Alberto El Canario, Luigi Texidor,Antonio Miles Pena, Andy Montanez, and several other artists. Willie started his solo career in 2003 performing for the first time in Europe thanks to Panamanian promoter residing in England, Elfida (tety) Aguilar. Willie Panama continues to perform concerts throughout Europe in countries like Belgium, Holland, France, and Luxembourgh; packing concerts with over 150,000 fans (not bad for a late starter). Willie Panama has been performing in concerts along with Great artists like Gilberto Santa Rosa, Don Omar, Tito Nieves, Orquesta La Luz, Puerto Rican Power, Anthony Cruz, Azucar Negra, and the list goes on. Willie Panama is truly a hard working performer that will not give up the dream of offering the world his unique musical style.
