About Me |
|
| Hello, My name is Wim. I live in Belgium (Mechelen/Brussel). I'm 20 years young and I am an EDM (Electronic Dance Music) producer. The first genre I've been listening to was rap/r&b. By the age of 15 I outgrew rap music and I started listening to all sorts of Dance Music, mainly commercial beats like for example: G-spott - No Comment and Dj Jose - Hecitate. I quickly realized that my taste for this genre was more then just following the hype of the moment. After that, I discovered a great passion for the trance - sub genre. I can only describe this genre as THE most ambivalent genre of all music. My taste has always been spread around all sub genres of trance:Uplifting trance with summer melodies that make the hair on my back curl (for example; Jonas Steur - Castamara, Solar Stone -Roller Coaster),Tech-trance which combines melody with techno-like percussion and baselines (e.g; Jesselyn - Tonka, Marcel woods - Advanced). I always fancied tracks with a touch of tribalPsy-trance; fast beats intoxicating baselines with a drug stimulating atmospheric effect, sometimes with a touch of baselines or a rock-guitar. (e.g. Astrix - Massive activity, Yahel - Infected mushroom)Vocal Trance: Tough a track shouldn't have vocals just to fill up the instrumental version, the beautiful voice of a woman together with a good melody sure can give me Goose Bumps. (e.g.Andain - Beautiful thing, Gabriel & Dresden - Tracking treasure downElectro Trance: a new branch in the trance genre; combines an electro bassline with a trance melody, making it very dancable. Just love this in clubs (e.g. Rank 1 - life less ordinary)As you might hear from my myspace player I mainly produce trance, tough I also produce D&B, house, electro and so on. Alltough I'm making great progress in fine tuning/mastering/structuring a track, my productions are limited by the CPU of my computer. And it's a fact that making melodies would be easier if I had a midi-keyboard. My dream is to become a great, well respected (and well payed DJ ;-) , still producing is just one of my hobbies, while most of my time is consumed by my studies. It won't be a surprise that my primary goal is to get my master degree in Bio-Ingeneering. | |
