| I am at a really good place in my life after tons of hardwork, long hours, some crucial life changing experiences, a few hardcore decisions, sweat and tears. In a nutshell: I am an observer, a critic, a listener, a sister, a friend, an occasional mom, a daughter and "the sober one who talks to the cops." I am a jaded cynic but I still feel the glass is half full. Painting, writing, drawing, reading and creating are passions-- cooking helps me to breathe. I am too old to put up with bullshit. To some I am an old soul. My friends are my choosen family and they are phenomenal people who will touch this world in ways never imagined. I am blessed to have them in my life as my support system and colleagues. With our powers combined are a super rowdy squad of political activists, shakers, and movers-- and would not have it any other way. I am currently working at a charter school in East Side San Jose; learning and growing along with my students. I wake up every morning and do what I love for a living. The charter school is directed towards students who deserve all the opportunities this world can offer in order to succeed. I have some talented, spirited, artistic, intelligent and beautiful students who are true revolutionaries in their own right (you all rock my world!) ..they are going to do some amazing things WATCH OUT!!!! Heroes:my current students at LPS, my ex-students at AC, my 17 year old brother (hang in there buddy!), my friends and mentors...those who blazed the trail for us today...and how its our turn.. "leaders dont lead, they push and nudge others to excel" remember...rosa parks does not represent the whole movement, neither does mlk jr... there were hundreds of thousands who planned for those events to take place....iconic figures can be a very historically misleading thing!!!!! what is a hero anyways??? |
