. : : . Kembwe is the co-creation fusion of psy-downtempo dub producer Curtis Humphrey, creator of Kalpataru Tree, and Wahkeena Sitka, a mystical ecstatic polyrhythmic vocalist. Both have roots in the Oregonian Pacific Northwest, connecting through the West Coast Psychedelic Electronic festival community. Curtis has been producing Kalpataru Tree for 3 years, creating debut album "Scattered Fragments of the Eternal Dream", featuring sonic shamanic vocalist Drea Drury. He has been performing at West Coast festivals from the Bay Area to the Sunshine Coast, enchanting listeners with a mystical downtempo vibe.      Wahkeena Sitka, from Portland Oregon, has been pursuing the artisanry of vocal performance since age 18, beginning as an acapella folk singer, but her vocal style has been largely inspired by Jazz & Soul, African and Native American chanting, with the introduction of ecstatic channelling through Reiki, Ecstatic Dance and Tantra bringing a dramatic shift to the energy within vocal expression. She produced and released her first album, "Surface Tension", in 2005, and has been pursuing the healing arts of Tantra, Meditation, Energy Work, Thai Massage and Sound Healing recently.      Together they are co-creating an upbeat, juicy psychedelic downtempo atmosphere mixed with mystical poetics and celestial polyrhythmic vocal funk, with intentions to download juicy high energy. |
