| What is Riverboarding? Riverboarders ride skimboard styled boards on rivers, going UPSTREAM at speeds of 30+ mph. You are propelled upstream by a patented bungee system. You use the board against the river current to push the rider and the board downstream, which stretches the bungee. When the bungee is fully stretched, you stand up on the board (beginners ride upstream on their stomachs)and shoot upstream. When the bungee is done pulling the board, it releases from the board. Now the rider is free to do Ollies, Shuv-it's, Big Spins, and more. When the ride is done, the rider paddles the board back to the bungee, hooks the board to the bungee release, stretches it and rides again. Surf all day!! No waiting for waves.

The average ride on a riverboard is about the same as the average short board surfboard ride. 9-10 seconds. Once your ride is done, you float back downstream to the end of the bungee, hook your board and ride again. Good riders can do ride after ride without missing the hook. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Q. Where can I riverboard? A. What you are looking for is Fast Glass. Fast Glass is an area on the river that has a good flow, but the surface of the water is still smooth. The cureent of the flow has to be strong enough to knock you off your feet if you try to stand in the current. There are many places on many rivers that are suitable for Riverboarding. - - - - - - - Q. Can you use a skimboard as a riverboard? A. A riverboard has a hook built into the bottom. Once riders have learned how to ride using the hook, they can try using just a handle. Many of the Pros in our videos ride with a handle. |
