About Me |
|
| I hate giving speeches... but here's a bit on me. Life takes us to a lot of places. And i feel music does the same. I love all different kinds of music... yes, country and rap too. About thirteen or so years ago, i started a journey of interest, after witnessing (and feeling!) a live Japanese Tycho drum ensemble perform at a festival my parents and i were at in Little Tokyo. I remember feeling the rhythms beat in my chest, stronger than my own heart. Come to think of it, i guess i was never the same after that! I wanted to play drums. So i started teaching myself to play and along the way learned many things from many, many people. On my own, i'd listen and play along to the radio and just dial through the stations, even the classical ones. One thing led to another and before i knew it, i was working with other musicians of various instruments, styles and influences. Some of them just starting out themselves and in need of someone to jam with. Educational none-the-less! Today, I'm pursuing my passion as a working drummer. Just moved to the Los Angeles area to play more and having thoughts of actually trying to take some college classes on theory and reading. Can't hurt, can it? I'm always down to jam and meet new cats, so please feel free to contact me via myspace or gmail at christopher.marin1@gmail.com. Well, thanks for listening! Peace. Sincerely, Chris.
