| To The Sun is the musical force behind the performance group, Envision Collective. Envision Collective is a performance group brought together to create an experience of interconnection and expansion through multidimensional, sensory performances. It was created by Ivan Goodman to perpetuate and disseminate multimedia, collaborative, eclectic activity in the world-energetic-body. Their first creation, A Journey of Tranceformation, is a performance art, rock-spectacle, happening whose story is communicated through music, film, animation, theatrical segments, circus arts, dance and poetry.
The video below is a preview of A Journey of Tranceformation. All the music was recorded LIVE and is not mastered. The video below, ENVISION PULSE, is Ivan Goodman's first completed animation made between February and May 2008. It is a amalgamation of sand animation, oil paint and ink on glass and ink in water. It represents the very beginning of Ivan's desire to create visual music and his contemplations on synaesthesia and nature. The music was written by Gabriel Cansino for the long lost, never realized, soon to be love of his life. The song was recorded by To The Sun in November of 2007. The various stimuli utilized in the performance, combine to construct a narrative that tells a story of the human spirit’s journey through revelation and metamorphosis to illuminated consciousness. A disillusioned, convoluted young man named Daniel, is driven to madness by his twisted, sub-human surroundings. As his consciousness breaks down, he falls into a broken-soul trance which draws him far out into the desert. In the beauty and chaos of a sand storm, he meets his spirit guide, a young girl. With her, he takes a journey through his psyche and the cosmos in a series of dream journeys which depict his spiritual transformation. The narrative and performance are built upon the interconnection and combination of the senses and mediums. The music reflects and complements the visuals, the circus arts extend the music with their forms and tensions, the visuals inform the narrative, the theatrical segments mirror the music’s content, the poetry enhances the music and on. Each creative stimulus interacts with the others to construct a journeying, narrative experience built upon sensual perceptions. |
