| Jimbo Mathus and THE Tri State Coalition The Mississippi Sound Cooperative (MSCOOP) is an organization whose sole mission is to nurture the Music and Musicians of Mississippi. Covering all genres of music the MSCOOP is the creation of Jimbo Mathus, Justin Showah, and The Reverend Robert Earl Reed . Jimbo Mathus IS a WORLD AMBASSADOR for MISSISSIPPI MUSIC whose credits include Founding and Fronting the Platinum Selling HYPER RAGTIME Band SQUIRREL NUT ZIPPERS ..as a highly sought after Guitarist Jimbo played a key role in Buddy Guys Sweet Tea (2001) and Grammy winning Blues Singer (2004) as guitarist and arranger. Jimbo is the proprietor of Delta Recording Service, a studio based in Como, MS and is sought out by artists seeking the old school style of recording. One such artist was Elvis Costello, he recorded his Grammy nominated Monkey to Man single in Mathus studio in 2005. Jimbo has produced two blues CDs that were nominated for WC handy awards in 2006; Duwane Burnsides Under Pressure and Big George Brocks Club Caravan. Additionally, he contributed vocals on North Mississippi Allstars 2006 Grammy nominated Electric Blues Watermelon...."ALCHEMY" is a word favored by Jimbo.....(Mississippi musicians are passing before our eyes....we must rise up together and be heard" ….Jimbo Mathus)...by putting his heart and soul into OUR Mississippi Musical Herritage Jimbo is doing something about the wonderment and future that is Mississippi Music. Justin Showah is the Founder of HILL COUNTRY RECORDS based in Como, Mississippi, and charter member of the Senegal meets Mississippi Hill Country Band AFRISSIPPI. Justin played with TAYLOR GROCERY BAND and appeared for 12 seasons on the THACKER MOUNTAIN RADIO HOUSE BAND. Currently, he is playing bass with JIMBO MATHUS & TRI-STATE COALITION and making records at DELTA RECORDING SERVICE in Como, Miss. The Reverend Robert Earl Reed is a singer/songwriter from the dark recesses of Mississippi. MSCOOP will provide access to affordable professional recording , arrangement, production, and when needed the accompaniment of Mississippi Musicians.
