M ickey Sanker found his musical voice at the age of 21. He joined the US Navy then spent eleven years in serving the country. Born and raised in Dickson, Tennessee, this singer/songwriter has been an artist all his life, having played in several bands prior to going solo, including The Brother-in-law Band, Maelstrom, Flashpoint, and too many other bands to mention. Mickey spent several years playing in different cover bands and has toured in San Antonio, Houston and Corpus Christi. Eventually all the bands broke up and Mickey was unable to find a group that inspired him, thus he decided to go solo. As a solo artist, Mickey plays lead guitar, bass, drums and keyboards in addition to vocals. He has written a lot of his own songs on his own, but hopes to one day form a band that will stick together. Mickey’s unique sound comes from his love of heavy metal including Black Sabbath, Kiss, Jane’s Addiction , Tool, Alice in Chains, Black Label Society, Black Stone Cherry, Deftones, Disturbed., MC5, Pearl Jam, Rob Zombie, Soundgarden, Slayer, Slipknot, Staind, Stone Temple Pilots, Type O Negative, W.A.S.P, White Zombie, to name a few. Mickey has performed nationally and internationally including bars in Nashville, TN and Texas, Tokyo, Rapungy, Japan, Australia and Indonesia. Having traveled the world, Mickey is looking to sign a recording contract, tour and earn a living making music.
