Los Angeles, CA – Hip-hop artist The Initiate has discovered a unique style in a crowded genre. With “Bounce Part 2,” The Initiate brings new impact to the genre, spicing up straight-ahead hip-hop with surprising tweaks. The artist’s enthusiasm and passion is infectious. Be it a fast number or a slow groove, The Initiate finds a way to make each song distinctly his own. From in-your-face party anthems to the chilled wooing of a lover, The Initiate has his bases covered. Hip-hop has grown.
“Bounce Part 2” is the kind of song that wakes up dance clubs; it’s the catalyst for a part. Mingling traditional hip-hop styles with tinges of techno, it’s a raptronica tribute a night out on the town, rubbing shoulders with good friends and beautiful women. But rather than descending into shallow blatherings and posturing, The Initiate simply infuses the fun of a Friday night into a song with pure charm and excitement.
The Initiate’s fresh spin on West Coast hip-hop makes him a shoe-in for success. Every now and then, an artist comes along to assure us that, no, it hasn’t all been done before. He blends profound personal experience and a irrepressible sense of fun in life to create a dynamic canon of songs that reflect his worldview and offer a rip-roaring musical charge. The Initiate’s influences range from truly old school hip-hop to cutting edge artists of today. As a hip-hop artist, he disregards restraining definitions that would label him as indie or mainstream, this or that. He does what he does and it works.
The Initiate started rapping in 2002 A year later he wrote his first song, found a producer and became a hip hop artist. Wanting more for himself and his music in 2006 he started producing. He performed at the 2007 Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at The Tacoma Dome but is taking a break from touring to settle in to work on his sophomore album. The future’s plans are big, with designs to kick off his own label and spread his touring as widely as possible. He’s currently working with A&R Select, the world’s leading independent artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles, CA.
