About Me |
|
Russell Baillie – Singer Having cut his teeth around the ‘take no prisoners’ Glasgow circuit, Russell added his considerable lungs to former (and original) Fleetwood Mac bassist Bob Brunning’s Deluxe Blues Band. Now adding depth and raw-edged soul to The Hundred-Givers, his powerful voice and assured stage presence will make you get up and stand up for your rights and the power of the Blues. Paul Davis – Bassist Mr Versatile has played most styles of music and honed his chops as part of some hot rhythm sections. If you can hum it, not only will Paul know it but he’ll also lay down a killer groove around it. Incorporating elements from James Jamerson to Willie Dixon, Paul brings a uniqueness to the Hundred-Givers that helps set them apart from the rest. Gavin Bartlett – Drummer The other half of The Hundred-Givers’ assured rhythm section, this engine room produces just the right amount of horsepower. Hugely talented and dexterous yet, crucially, always playing for the song rather than the ego, Gavin propels each song along and each audience to the floor. Whether it’s the New Orleans funk of Cissy Strut or his sublime brushwork on old favourite Help Me, if you’ve got feet Gavin will get them moving. Mike Hicks – Guitarist Known as ‘The Reverend’ due to his evangelical passion for the music, the slow-burning intensity of this South Londoner’s guitar playing can both break your heart and heal your soul. Heavily influenced by the emotional approach of the understated Peter Green, Mike’s playing is equal parts Otis Rush, Michael Bloomfield, Albert King and Robert Cray, fused together to produce something all his own that will surely move you. |
