| Biography: It all started in the winter of 2002. Formed by Eric Labrie (Lamentations, Carpathian gate R.I.P.), the project was only a draft of his ambition, performed in a Dark Wave, Dark Ambient and Down tempo genre. Named “Winter of Fantasy” this time, it never sees any professional release but counted three demos: “To die under a winter moonlight”, “Epitaph” and “The guardian of malediction”. The genre changes a lot during these three experiences and evolved to a more classically and symphonically oriented. During this time, Eric began to study a lot from the oriental and occidental classic music theories from Masters like Mendehlsonn, Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, etc. In the summer of 2006, after three years of experimentation and a year of silence, Eric decided to bring the project as a front one and produce his first professional release under its new name, “Shadows of memories”. “Equilibrium”, the first part of a Trilogy, will take 2 years to release during which the project welcomed a new member, the mezzo-soprano singer Mireille Tessier. Her coming came with a new name, “Kalte Traurigket” (pronounced Kalte Trorichket), that means cold sadness, and a new drive with some of her ideas, influences, chant experience and, of course, her talent. After a year of composition, they entered, in October of 2007, H.E.A.D. studio with Olivier Rheaume as the sound engineer. The studio session will take an end in July of 2008 and “Equilibrium” will be available during the summer of 2008. Biographie: Tout commença au courant de l’hiver 2002. Formé par Eric Labrie (Lamentations, Carpathian gate-R.I.P.), le projet n’était qu’une esquisse de ses ambitions à venir, au son Dark Wave, Dark Ambient et Down tempo qu’était sa voie de prédilection d’antan. Autrefois nommé Winter Of Fantasy, le projet ne verra aucun album professionnel, mais bien trois démos : To die under a winter moonlight”, “Epitaph” et “The guardian of malediction”. Le style évolua énormément au courant de ces trois démos, s’orientant de plus en plus vers un style beaucoup plus axé sur le classique. C’est pendant cette période qu’Eric commença à étudier les Grands à travers les cultures musicales Orientale et occidentale, tel que : Mendehlsonn, Brahms, Beethoven, Chopin, etc. C’est au courant de l’été 2006, après trois ans d’expérimentations et une année de silence, qu’Eric décida de mettre de l’avant ce projet et ainsi produire le tout premier album, à ce jour sous le nom “Shadows of memories”. “Equilibrium”, le premier volet d’une trilogie, prendra deux ans à réaliser, durant lesquelles le projet accueilla un nouveau membre, la mezzo-soprano Mireille Tessier. Sa venue apporta son lot de renouveau au projet, notamment avec un nouveau nom, “Kalte Traurigket” (prononcé Kalte Trôrichket) et signifiant Froide tristesse, ou simple tristesse (tout dépend de la traduction), mais aussi beaucoup de ses idées, ses influences, son expérience au niveau du chant, et bien sur, son énorme talent. Après une année de composition, ils entrèrent, en octobre 2007, les studios H.E.A.D., dirigé par Olivier Rhéaume à titre d’ingénieur sonore.
