| Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Justin Watson, before known as JayWat, started rapping on the Underground Hip-Hop scene in the "D" about 10 years ago. After graduating from the public school system in the metro area JayWat began his solo career as an emcee doing local shows and performing in different CIPHERS in the hood. "If you don't know what a CIPHER is then you ain't no EMCEE" quoted by JayWat. With too few artist and good producers around JayWat began producing his own beats not knowing his talent would perfect itself in the years to come. Jay joined the Marines and travled alot. Everywhere he went he always carried his equipment and never once did he stop rapping. "Man when I was stationed on Camp Pendleton, I use to lean my M-16 on my rack and pull out my DR-5 Drum Machine and make beats all day"quoted by JayWat. After the Military, JayWat remained in California and began Producing tracks for many artist and also started Engineering. A few years later JayWat has emerged as one of the West Coast premier and upcoming producers. Low-key and very unannounced, JayWat's track record extends from the Eastcoast in New York City and Baltimore, to both Bay's in Oakland and San Diego, California.
