| To everyone who has joined up to this fantastic group of Kandi fans. Thank You for all the support over the last 7 years, with everyone's help we achieved so much !50 compilations, Over 5 million sales, 2 UK Top 10 records, 5 No 1 Club Records and over 1000 parties around the world !Most importantly we were a small part of building the love of house music worldwide ...and we did it in style !I made a very very dfficult decision to leave last year and it was for my own reasons. Hed Kandi was and still is a great label no matter who is in charge and it is the team that work to make it what it is.I left to follow my own dream of actually owning my own label (along with all the headaches that go with it).Many people think I owned Hed Kandi and although I - (deep breath) - Invented the name, hired Jason Brooks to create the covers, created the company, presented the radio show, hired the staff and compiled all the CD's (blah blah blah ...me me me) I never actually owned the company or had any share in it ... It was sold twice, once to The Guardian and then to Minstry.Although being owned and financed by someone else is very safe I finally wanted something of my own and that's why I left.Hed Kandi is now more successful than ever and is currently riding high at No 2 in the compilation charts. Hopefully the new owners will continue to build the dream we started but that's now up to them.Fierce Angel is our new baby ... it is a small but perfectly rounded team including the amazing Jason Brooks who illustrates our music and some amazing DJs ..all the event information, CD releases etc are on www.fierceangels.com and you can come and join my friends group on myspace.Good Luck To Everyone Its ALL ABOUT THE MUSIC !Mark DoyleDID YOU KNOW THAT……….First ever official Hed Kandi album on the Hed Kandi label was Nu Cool 3 & Serve Chilled 1. HEDK01 & HEDK02There were two nu cool albums released before no 3 but they were both released on Jazzfm Records. The first album orginally had a photographic cover with a cool girl in close up and the second featured the first Jason Brooks artwork.Both were compiled by Mark Doyle while he was running jazzfm records ..they became quite successful and it was felt they needed a seperate label to exist on ...and so Hed Kandi was born - The 3rd Nu Cool and the first Serve Chilled were released as the first two titles on Hed Kandi.Later they went back and repackaged the first two Nu Cools so they fit into the overall series... | |
