| real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools Well it all started long ago at the young age of seven, I had this note book that I filled with lyrics, okay they were daft childlike songs but they were songs! The first instrument I learned to play was the recorder, then the kazoo! haha eventually I went on to play the violin, I played for four years but decided I hated it and gave up. Once in High school I started clamouring for a guitar but then changed my mind, I wanted to be a drummer, I wasn't allowed to do that so I settled for the guitar......and fell in love! I got my first guitar aged eleven. I started learning from a chord book and eventually went on to have lessons at the age of fourteen. I sang for the first time in front of people when I was fifteen and haven’t stopped since, I know I don't have the best voice in the world but I don't have the worst either and considering I haven't been trained I am really proud of myself. When I left school in 2007 I formed my first proper band, I had been in bands before but they never did anything! With Chronicles of the Underdogs not only did I get to front the band but I used a lot of my own material and played gigs around some of the popular venues around Stoke-On-Trent. After the bands split in early 2008 I felt more grown up as a musician, I began to write more mature songs and knew I wanted to work as a solo artist. I now have a vast collection of songs and some recordings under my belt, I’ve started to use other instruments on my songs such as harmonica and I am currently learning Sitar. For the rest of this year I hope to be hitting local venues and branching out as far as possible, I am going to be studying my final year of my btec national diploma in music at Burslem college and I am hoping to get in to LIPA. and yes maybe one day I will play the drums! |
