'About Me' I recently finished writing,arranging,producing and performing on a CD with the great oboist ANNA FISHER. The cd is called "YIN YANG". You need to take a listen to the cool sound that we're getting on an oboe and English horn rubbing against my luscious keyboard styling. http://www.soundclick.com/annafisherandjawgehughes No one instrument is more or less important than another. Our music has lots of fresh ideas we're sure you'll appreciate. "Come On Back" by Jawge and The UKB on the Orgen Music Label, is still available!!! Jawge Hughes is a native of St.Thomas USVI,now based in Los Angeles CA.He has toured with most every Reggae star. Jawge's authentic reggae style and his vast electronic musical knowledge, along with all his friends that performed on the CD makes it a must for listeners into the whole caribbean music experience. The whole album is a long musical exploration, from upfull Ska ,Dance Hall, Fusion Reggae to the deadly One-Drop Roots Reggae Style, As well as some judiciously placed samples. Jawge said "I always try to be adventurous with music, keeping it simple,with some challenging surprises in it" Featured on this CD is the Legendary late Joe Higgs http://www.reggaesource.com/artists/joe higgs/ who drop the most wicked and energetic Nyabinghi drumming that propelled the tracks to another level.A level that one would expect from master teacher who had students like The Wailers ( Bob Marley, Peter tosh,Bunny Wailer )The Wailing Souls to name a few. Next is Hempfull George "Fully" Fullywood on bass is one of the greats in reggae music.He has played on hit after hit Since his boyhood days in Kingston Jamaica, from Bob Marley on down, and is world renowned as the longtime bassist of Peter Tosh.When Full's laying it down,you can't help but dance. Tony Chin on guitar grew up with fully, also worked with Bob Marley and so.has also played on hit after hit in Kingston,Jamaica worked with Big Mountain during the hit days. Leon Mobley http://remo.com/artist/w_leon_mobley.html on Djimbe Drum is among the most esteemed percussionist in the world.He is the founder and artistic director of Djimba west african drummers and dancers.He has taught at both the Berkeley College of Music in Boston, MA and the university of California at Los Angeles,CA.
