I guess I should share a bit about myself. I was Born in Anchorage, Alaska, and grew up in Colorado, Arizona, and Illinois. I started out as a DJ in Chicago. Previous to becoming a Club DJ I was involved with the Chicago Punk, and Jazz scenes. I have spun many styles from Industrial to House, Acid Jazz, Bebop, Funk, to Punk and everything in-between. I mixed at such nightclubs as the ledgendary Shelter, The Limelight, The Riviera, Neo, China Club, 950, Exit, Avalon, Metro, Admiral Theatre, and The Park West, just to name a few. I have shared booth space with some of the finest of Chicago DJs, including Mark Farina, and Johnny Fiasco. I also ran an after hours called The Phantom Club for a number of years at various locations around Chicago. During this time from around 1981 to 1995 I worked at a lot of clubs, I was always working at least 2 or 3, keeping myself fresh, and my name out there.I was also in a number of bands, including The Nodes, A Minimal Graphic, Tempus Fugit, and most noteably Eight and One Half (8 1/2) of which I was a founding member with my brother R. Lewis Floodstrand. The band also included a number of exellent musicians, including drummer and percussionist Jo Pusateri, keyboard player Tom O' Callahan, and bassist Antoine Swift. We played throughout the midwest, and headlined in Chicago, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, and Detroit. Eight and One Half also toured with New Order, Killing Joke, The Thompson Twins, and Lene Lovich, to name a few.Perhaps our most memorable show was at the UIC Pavillion, where we opened up for Roxy Music in front of a sold out crowd of 10,000 in our hometown of Chicago.
Eight and One Half was managed for a number of years by the Firm's Peter Katsis, who now manages Korn, and Limp Bizkit, Backstreet Boys, Nickelback, P. Ditty, Dixie Chicks, Enrique Eglasias, and at one time managed Ministry.
Al Jourgensen of Ministry produced tracks for 8 1/2 at Chicago Recording Company in Chicago, Craig Leon was brought in as Executive Producer. This was right after the album "With Sympathy" was released in 83'. Al came back from England to do the album, he was so gracious, he even mentioned us in his interviews over there, including on the BBC. My friend Jamie from the Prongs Ministry website sent me a copy, thanks! Anyway, I loved working with Al he is Brilliant!! I learned everything I could, considering how wasted I was all the!?!@! time. He is also one of the most charming, and engaging people you will ever have the opportunity to meet. Unfortunately, due to complicated circumstances at the time , this record was never released. I still have these tracks. In responce to the overwhelming International interest in these Al Jourgensen produced tracks they are due to be released in the near future. I formed Criterion Records (now Criterion International) and Kitty Dog Music Publishing (BMI), with R. Lewis Floodstrand in 1988. We continued to produce our own music. The E.P. entitled "Travel" was released to critical acclaim and charted nationally, entering Rockpool's Dance chart at 21, and sharing chart space with groups like Meat Beat Manifesto, Front Line Assembly, Revolting Cocks, Moev, and Skinny Puppy. Three separate cuts off the record including "Alaska" (listen to it on MySpace music player), "Miami" (this track also featured a pre-Static-X Wayne Static on background vocals), and "In Montreal". This record (a vinyl only release) charted heavily with DJ record pools, like W.A.R.D. and Dance Culture, Rock Pool, and garnered college & commercial radio airplay across the U.S. and Canada.We also produced the debut album for Deep Blue Dream, before they changed the name to Static-X. Wayne Static, aka Wayne Wells was the lead singer, guitarist, and primary song writer for Deep Blue Dream. Wayne and Static-X have gone on to platinum artist status, tour internationally and are presently signed to the Warner Bros label.
We also produced Chicago House Music group Barnhouse, and Jazz Trumpet player Rex Richardson. Rex Richardson.Phd, is now an internationally known Jazz musician and educator.

I now live in Orlando and work as a Club DJ and Producer.

Of late, I have found my self gravitating back toward my Jazz roots, yet still incorporating elements of Industrial, and Dance music all of which I have a deep appreciation for.

We are presently recording material for the new Eight and One Half album due out in 2008 on Criterion International, and we are putting together a new group to play out live early next year. We would also like to welcome the newest member of Eight and One Half, James Hopkins.
