| The first element of a turntable is the record itself. The record contains grooves and sits on a spinning platter. A Stylus - a needle suspended in an electromagnet field - rest in the grooves of the record as it spins.The stylus detects minute fluctuations in frequency and amplitude embedded in the grooves. These fluctuations cause voltage changes in the electromagnet, which are directed out of the turntable and consequently amplified. | |
