SHIROCK has just finished recording their official debut record. The pre-release EP, "SHIROCK /// 5" is out now, and the full-length release will be out fall 2008. Both the record and the EP are SHIROCK at their absolute best…emotionally charged powerful music with thought provoking and earnest lyrics. SHIROCK is built on the driving rhythm section of Adam Gatchel and Derek Blank, coupled with Jason Bynum's layered guitars, topped with anthemic melodies and soaring vocals from frontman Chuck Shirock, and mixed with the pure voice of keyboardist and female vocalist Pap. Recently 2 songs from the SHIROCK /// 5 EP, "New Sotluion" & "Say It Out" were used on MTV's hit show The Hills. The song "Time Goes By" from the upcoming full-length release was also used on The Hills. SHIROCK is managed by PMC, alongside such acts as Green Day, Goo Goo Dolls, All American Rejects, Plain White T’s, and more. SHIROCK is an ambitious band in their approach to developing both their music and their brand… along with the band, SHIROCK has developed, designs and runs a full clothing line called IROCK clothing . It is sold in select boutique stores nation-wide. In addition to this SHIROCK is also in the beginning stages of launching a non-profit organization called Everything Burns . The organization will exist to help connect fans with pro-active local, regional and international groups making a positive impact in their area. In addition to this, SHIROCK and fans will partner with select groups in key cities to help promote and further their work. In the future SHIROCK will put on concerts through Everything Burns to raise awareness and money for specific needs in certain areas and ultimately take trips to work with organizations abroad with fans. Frontman Chuck Shirock talks often about the message behind both the song “Everything Burns” and the organization, saying, “It’s about living for the things that matter most in life…it’s far too easy to get wrapped up in the temporary, when what’s most important are people & relationships.” Future plans include trips overseas with fans to help aid struggling areas among other things. Many of these ideas for the band & Everything Burns can be attributed to Chuck & Pap both growing up overseas in the Philippines, Scotland, and Turkey. Needless to say, SHIROCK is a young band with a big sound & many big ideas… but at the heart of it all is a group of young friends searching for answers, focusing on emotional & honest song writing, and connecting with fans hoping to make an impact in their culture.
