| The story is as follows:When I was little... the ground wasn't stable... reality left tiny marks on my soul...and so I turned these marks into pictures... and when I grew... these pictures filled walls... some trailed onto ceilings... encompassed huge spaces... and, at some point, they became what I do.On my journey... I met someone...and, in time... he broke my heart...(I found shards of it in the strangest of places).My pictures were too saturated in colour to ever show the dark hues of sediment in the pit of my belly...so, the images formed into words... and the words were cradled by melodies... and they took on texture and colour... until the hurt seeped out... creeped out ... into the daylight.and now... in the shadows of my day... I search for people to help lead my words into the sunshine... (somedays I can almost feel it's warmth on the back of my neck) | |

I'd like to meet:people to inspire me, people saturated in creativity, those who reside under the mainstream, dreamers, unbelievers, sceptics, dipped in sarcasm. Those who love making a mark, who lose themselves in doodling, dancing, singing, writing... (Designs for Mental Health Space- Commissioned to create:'Somewhere you can be alone in without feeling lonely'. Bespoke furniture, including 6ft bags filled with memory foam (that almost hug you when you sit in them). Individual lighting able to be dimmed/switched off from any seated position, creating smaller spaces within the room, and artwork trailing from walls to flooring... winding around the furniture). (Colour palette chosen through a series of workshops).'The Journey' Series of paintings for a Hospice corridor...trailing through seasons...over walls and ceilings...around light fittings...with self made and adinkra symbols for growth, change, hope, transformation, resilience, etc, etc... Finally leading to a lightwell at the end of the long corridor. (Designed to uplift a formally dark and daunting corridor, creating a fresh, distracting, warm body of work)... 'Dream Store' Set and Costume Design for Youth Theatre. Three days intensive making, with an interactive Dream Store where the audience could initially tell the actors their dreams, to then be given ingredients that would help them achieve these dreams. (love, skill, luck, hope, creativity,focus, etc, etc). The ingredients were then consumed whilst watching the performance. |
