| It all started a long time ago in Oakland California. I started playing guitar at 10 years old. My first band was in the 4th grade. We played a talent show at my grammar school. My Dad was the MC. In High School I was in a band with Don Cromwell (Air Supply; Eddie Money) called Cyrus. After High School I was a Guitar Major at SF STATE. I studied Jazz with John Handy. Played in the jazz band with Wayne Wallace, Guy Arastrudo, John Beaumont and Smith Dobson. I was in my first real band that played clubs and recorded. The band was Spectrum. WOW... Gary Calvin on bass (Sly Stone, Jean luc Ponty, Joyce Cooling), Vic Paterson drums (Tower of Power), Tom Rauls Trombone (Macey Gray), Dale Ramsey, SAX (the biggest and baddest engineer producer, AKA Rambro), John Carter, flute (writer, producer), Ray Gardner, Keyboards (writer Santana), Greg Levias, keys (Rick James), WOW.. what a band. We were an "A" list SF club band in the 70's. Things change, bands break up, musicians grow and move on. It was around this time that I met and started playing with Amadeo and Adrian Barrios... (who went on to become the Sheets). I moved to Las Vegas. I played with the Imperials in the lounges and the BIG ROOMS (The Sahara, The Landmark and the Aladin. After a year of this.. back home. I played with Brotherly Love with Will Kennedy (the Yellow Jackets) on drums. I met Chris Domino and we started the Generators (pre-Sheets) punk rockers. I played with Mary Monday (the PUNK ROCK QUEEN in SF). Then back to Las Vegas, 1978 a HUGE year. Tour of England and Wales with the Imperials. Bob Marley and the Wailers college tour and West Coast tour (my buddies Junior Marvin and Al Anderson). Junior turned me on to Roger Mayer...YEAH.. WOW. He set up my guitars. Later that year Japan for 3 months. I call it the Yakusa tour.. NO LIE Joined "Two Tons of Fun" Izora and Martha.. the best.. They became the Weather Girls. We toured with Sylvester. Killer band with Jeff Chin, Vic Paterson and Hillary Thompson (Billy Peaches from Tiggy Clay). I played in Vitamin E (Budah Records). This eventually became BRIDGE. We were signed to CBS/BANG records. OFF to Bolder Colorado to record with Jim Stroud producer. OK.. back home. I also played with WILLIE and the Wild Bunch (Willie Sparks, Grahm Central Station), Claytoven Richardson (prolific song writer and producer), Patrice Banks also known as Chocolate from Grahm Central Station), Ira Walker bass player with Eddie Money, Billy Satallite and the Passion Pirates. I was a session player in the SF Bay Area. I played with Bill Summers and Summers Heat, Private Eye with Claytoven Richardson, Larry Baptiste and Will Kennedy, Penatentery III sound track, Rance Allen, Mary Wells. AT this time I started playing and writing with Steve and Rikki Gordon. We were shopping deals with Motown Records (Benny Medina). This band became Hi-tech. Also at this time I played with their nephew Jay Gordon (ORGY) in a metal band called Aviras. OK. I got married had kids.. went back to school got my degrees (MS Counseling) But I teach guitar..Chapter two... guitar study with Warren Nunes. Prior I studied with Jerry Hahn.. but now I was focused.
