| As a close relative of the late comedian Richard Pryor, one might claim that pure artistic genius runs through the veins of Peoria-born songstress Liv Warfield. She has blossomed into Portland's most promising soul diva- a self-trained singer, songwriter and performer who exudes a gravitational soul power.
Liv Warfield emerged on Portland's music scene in 2002 where she began performing with the hip-hop band "Money N' Lovin" followed by a successful showcase collaborating with Nashville keyboardist Joey Porter and his soul-jazz ensemble "Silky". In 2004, Liv Warfield took center stage in her own band entitled Liv & The Warfield Project. Although Warfield is known for her gospel-like fervor during her captivating rock and soul performances in a live setting, her ultra sensual album of smooth sophisticated grooves is a testament to her impressive versatility and cross-catagorical appeal. Warfield is a soul prodigy influenced by the melody of Roy Ayers, the lyricism of Donny Hathaway, the vocal styling of Curtis Mayfield and an emotional standard pioneered by soul goddesses Etta James, Patti LaBelle and Tina Turner. Liv Warfield is a modern vessel that channels her contemporary soul into beautiful music that transcends genre and generation. September 9, 2006 marks the release date of Liv Warfield's debut album entitled "Embrace Me". Warfield organically blends classic soul, acoustic rock, sultry rhythm and straight-up sexy blues. |
