My name is Craig I can do lots of things... walk, cook, talk, sleep, play dijeridoo... but mainly im known for painting... I use oils mostly, on pretty big canvases... Rumble, Oil on canvas, 48 by 36 Cuckoos, Oil on canvas, 48 by 36 Hooligan, Oil on canvas, 48 by 28 More... click on the thumbnails to view a bit bigger I was always drawing as a kid... only child... had a piece put in the Edinburgh museum of art at age 12... lotsa pressure to "do something" with my talent... thought, fuck that... just wanna doodle... anyway... acid happened... started making flyers and big florescent backdrops and weird floro sculptures for my mate Lee (DJ Murder by Sound) for the plexus parties at the vaults in Edinburgh 92/93... did murals on the entire interior of a club in Edinburgh (cant remember the name but its where they did Carbolic Frolic)... ended up in San Francisco to paint a mural at a new club there in 94(didnt actually happen)... but i did end up touring the techno circuit for 2 years... hanging art at 1015 Folsom, Boogie Buffet, Friends and Family, 150 Folsom, Megatripolis, Trocadero, CCC, Burning Man, Etc... then 96... broke my knee... 97... had a beautiful baby daughter, Aurora...98... went to live in an amazing A-frame house in the high Arizona desert to heal the knee, simplify, detox, and help bring up me new baby girl... 99... back to SF... hooked up with the Blue Room people from London, who had just started up in SF... became the organiser for all the art and installations for their monthly parties... always did the ambient room with all mines ;-)... then met John Wood (Tantra parties and the Late Night Coalition)... John became another private collector and also hired me as the art director for Tantra... the Late night Coalition (LNC) fought the city and now are in charge of party permits in SF... amazing!... more burning man... back to scotland for a year... knee surgery (at last)... did a bunch of paintings to give to all me old mates and relatives... 2004-now... back in the states... living in Tucson, Arizona... living simply... always painting and selling to my small group of private collectors... hanging with Aurora... amazing place... beautiful... 300 days of sunshine a year... huge university... people from all over... so... here for a little bit longer... |
