Friend ... and more Blah.I would say that the following surveys, etc. are about 80% accurate. You Have a Phlegmatic Temperament Mild mannered and laid back, you take life at a slow pace. You are very consistent - both in emotions and actions. You tend to absorb set backs easily. You are cool and collected. It is difficult to offend you. You can remain composed and unemotional. You are a great friend and lover. You don't demand much of others. While you are quiet, you have a subtle wit that your friends know well. At your worst, you are lazy and unwilling to work at anything. You often get stuck in a rut, without aspirations or dreams. You can get too dependent on others, setting yourself up for abandonment. What Temperment Are You? Your Political ProfileOverall: 20% Conservative, 80% Liberal Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal Personal Responsibility: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal Fiscal Issues: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal Ethics: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal Defense and Crime: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal How Liberal / Conservative Are You? You Should Be A Poet You craft words well, in creative and unexpected ways. And you have a great talent for evoking beautiful imagery... Or describing the most intense heartbreak ever. You're already naturally a poet, even if you've never written a poem. What Type of Writer Should You Be? |

My Interests |
| Books (books are good!), coffee (mmm ... particularly, with a brownie), running, weightlifting, dancing, breaking things (not living things), art, chess, law, love (fortunately, I don't have that problem right now. I took a couple aspirins and it went away), politics (not so optimisitic), writing (getting better), and witty conversation (I tried to think of something witty to put in here but I couldn't come up with anything--insert awkard pause). Irreverence: so long as its clever or fun. Fight the power! Down with the man! Oh, wait a minute. I am the man. | |
I'd like to meet:You! |
Music:Banging pots so to annoy the neighbors. |
Movies:If I tell you, I'll have to kill you. |
Television:I'm trying to cut back. I'm a t.v. adict, if there is such a thing. Therefore, I will not list my favorite shows for fear of a pavlovian response. |
Books:I REALLY LOVE READING. I'm not trying to be pretentious by listing these; just trying to let you know what I'm into. Some of the authors I have read are: Orwell, D.H. Lawrence, Dostoevsky, Victor Hugo, Jane Austin, Milton, Walt Whitman, Nietzsche, Foucault, James Joyce, Eugenides, Pearl Buck, Flaubert, Henry James, Oscar Wilde, Dante, Chekhov, Mary Shelley, Steinbeck, Goethe, Gogol, Hesse, Twain, Hemingway, and William Faulkner. I'm currently reading: For Whom The Bell Tolls, The Varieties of Religious Experience, and tons of stuff on immigration policy. Perhaps, my two favorite authors are Dostoevsky and Orwell. Of Dostoevsky's works I have read, The Idiot, Crime and Punishment, The House of the Dead, and The Brothers Karamazov. I have read Orwell's 1984 and Animal Farm. Anyone, even remotely interested in politics must read Orwell. A new favorite: A Farewell to Arms. |
Heroes:All those who give, without the desire for reward or fame. Particularly, if it's me they want to give to. |

The state of knowledge |

| Some thought-provoking dialogue from a book I'm reading. I left the first word out because the logic or illogic would be the same for any word/words.

On loving someone |

| Something I've read that got me thinking; I realize I'm once again being overly sentimental. It's about loving someone. The words moved me. Pardon my romanticism. Judge for yourself; for here they... Posted by B on Sat, 07 Apr 2007 11:21:00 PST |

Would you rather be the clod, the pebble, or neither? |
| This is a poem; I've read recently which succinctly pits two antipodal positions on love. It seems to me that both can be unhealthy and that most of us are guilty of wallowing in each of the two... Posted by B on Mon, 08 May 2006 10:37:00 PST |
