| Since November 2003, Hollow Jan, formed in Seoul, Korea, has been rocking on for what they love and need; music and self-satisfaction. This five men unit composed of Lim Hwan Taek (vocals), Lee Seung Min (guitar), Lee Kwang Jae (guitar), Jung Dong Jin (bass), and Park Sang Chul (drums) plays intense, passionate, and emotional hardcore. Hollow Jan, which means Hollow January, pursues progressive and, at the same time, experimental/ambient rock music based on hardcore. With the release of their first demo album including 4 songs and other 2 live songs, Hollow Jan has started performing since 2004. In the meantime, BT records (Better Tomorrow records), suggested releasing an EP album so that Hollow Jan made the album Hyacinthus Orientalis of Purple including 3 songs, and it was released in January, 2005. There were a lot of unsatisfying shows; however, through the 2 albums, their passionate gigs, and hard working, Hollow Jan has impressively fascinated people. After then, Hollow Jan received several proposals to contract their first full-length to put out and chose Dope Music of the proposals. In December of 2006, Hollow Jan finally came back with the album entitled Rough Draft in Progress. It has 6 brand new songs, 3 songs rerecorded from the demo, and a cover song. From record to record, they have tried to make songs that reflect what they feel, see, and hear. This album has also been made with such individual things that only the band members got. Although Hollow Jan made 2 albums before, they still think Hollow Jan is in progress. For the better rocking, the band keeps working hard. In this moment, Hollow Jan is running on stage.
