About Me |
|
| Alex Puddu was born in Rome, Italy, in 1967 but moved to Denmark at the age of 19 and quickly established his reputation as a musician in a number of indie rock bands. In 1997, he and Morten Varano founded the groundbreaking electronica duo Puddu Varano and released three albums and a number of singles before splitting up in 2003.Only a year later, Alex Puddu’s first solo album, “Chasing the Scorpion’s Tail” was released and was followed by “The Silence of the Sun and the Rhythm of the Rain” in 2005. Both albums mark a musical change for Alex Puddu. The first was influenced by jazz and lounge music whereas the second had a touch of soul, folk, and psychedelia.“Songs for the Sleepers” is a return to the musical roots with a mix of indie rock and electronica. The album contains 10 luscious tracks, radiant with melancholy and romance which emphasize Alex Puddu’s qualities as a songwriter. These tracks make up the perfect soundtrack for dark winter nights.“Songs for the Sleepers” was produced by Alex Puddu who also played most of the instruments himself.
