| TAKING SHOWERS FOR SPORT. I remember it as vividly as if were yesterday. It was Spring, in the desert of Las Vegas, when first I encountered the shower known only as PUMP. It was a big one, with loud sprays and a harsh spout. With the twist of my trusty towel, Tallulah, and one hand stuck inside the door, I turned the crank and off it went. The floor was slippery, I thought I'd lost it for a second but back it came. Fighting desperately to lose what little advantage I'd acquired, the shower switched from comfortably warm to skin crawlingly frigid. I shuttered at the sensation, but grabbed my soap and conditioner and I showed that shower who was indeed paying the water bill. Eventually it succumbed but not after minutes of hair washing adventure and soapsuds in crevices too difficult to describe. YES, that was indeed my greatest shower and I hold the head upon my mantle for all to see. Thank you. | |
