| I was bitten by a vampire bat in 1795, and was cursed to walk the earth as one of the undead. In an attempt to save me from this torment, my father, Joshua Collins, placed a silver crucifix on my chest and then secured me inside the family burial vault. Some 150 years later I was released from my coffin when drifter Willie Loomis, attempted to rob the family crypt at Eagle Hill Cemetery in search of buried ancestral jewels. Taking up residence once again at the Collinwood Mansion in the guise of a distant cousin from England, I roamed in the night but continued to live an eternity of loneliness and regret always thinking of my true love, Josette Dupres, my wife to be who, as the result of a curse placed on her by the same witch that cursed me, married my brother shortly before we were to be wed. In despair I challenged my brother to a duel and killed him. The witch showed Josette in a vision the horrors in store for her in being a vampire with me. Rather than living eternity as a vampire, she ended her life by jumping off Widows Hill. When I saw a modern-day reincarnation of Josette, in the form of Maggie Evans, I pursued her. But my attempts at love were to no avail, even after biting her and attempting to turn her into a vampire. When not feeding on the warm blood of my victims, I spent my time working with Dr. Julia Hoffman who attempted to cure me of this vampirism. My nemesis is a beautiful, blond-haired witch known as Angelique who black mailed me into marrying her and stalks me to this day.
