Their influences range from Alice in Chains, Soundgarden to Danzig, Metallica, The Cult and Stone Temple Pilots. Ossimoro are Federico Venditti (guitar), Paolo Recchia (bass), Francesco Fornara (vocals), Fabrizio Ferrante (drums). So far the combo have produced two demos (E Siah! – 2002 and Astri – 2005) showing their ability to mix doom and stoner with the melodic Italian language creating an unique sound that hopefully will give them a chance to reach a new audience abroad. Last March the band picked nine tracks and locked themselves in the Wax Recording Studios – Rome – to start recording their first full length CD "Corvi Nel Cielo Spento". The album kicks off with the opener Idoli di Paglia, a hypnotic mantra that leads the listener into the depths of doom. Scimmie di Dio is a more mainstream track with a catchy chorus. Immaginazione is a slow mid tempo number that blends prime Soundgarden with early Sabbath. Le Maschere has a powerful eastern beat while La Nona Porta has a 80s new wave feel. La Città dorme is probably the purest doom song the band has laid down while Schiavi del 21smo Secolo ends with a space rock psychedelic coda. The CD has been self produced but the band is looking for a recording contract in order to be promoted and distributed throughout Italy and abroad. Currently Ossimoro is creating real interest in Rome with a series of incendiary live shows in and outside the capital. Gli Ossimoro sono un gruppo stoner doom rock di Roma. Attivi dal 2002 hanno come influenze principali i Soundgarden, Cult, Alice in Chains, Danzig, Metallica, Stone Temple Pilots. Il gruppo è composto da: Federico Venditti (chitarre), Paolo Recchia (basso), Fabrizio Ferrante (batteria), Francesco Fornara (voce). Dopo numerosi concerti nel circuito romano il combo capitolino sforna due demo, nel 2002 “E Siah!” e nel 2005 “Astri” continuando nell'attività live e cercando di forgiare un sound più compatto e personale. Nel Marzo 2007 la band si chiude negli WaX Recording Studios di Roma per incidere il cd di debutto “Corvi nel Cielo Spento”, nove tracce di stoner doom rock. Il mastering del cd viene effettuato agli Outer Studios a fine Ottobre. Il sound spazia dalla opener messianica Idoli di Paglia a pezzi più mainstream come Scimmie di Dio e Diva, passando per ritmi cadenzati come Immaginazione e La città Dorme. Gli Ossimoro stanno cercando un etichetta o casa di distribuzione interessata nel promuovere,distribuire il cd in modo capillare. Stay tuned!
