Familea Miranda (“noisy onlookers” or “window shoppers” according to the local slang) was born in 1999 in Santiago de Chile, Southamerica, a country whose more famous historic and musical "highlights", are the legacy of 15 years of dictatorship under the wing of the bloody piggy Augusto Pinochet (the "latinoamerican Führer") and also being the homeland of Tom Araya, singer of the metal band Slayer. The band is the confluence “veteran musicians” of the chilean underground punk scene from the early 90’s. (They like to say they are “survivors of the practice room” instead) Since their beginnings, they have know how to distill a mostly instrumental sound that brings to mind the intrincate legacy of Shellac, the density of Melvins and the energy of Fugazi, always watching with distrust the traditionalism of the music generated at this side of the Los Andes mountains. In their style, come together, comfortably, elements of punk rock, hardcore, new wave, obscure metal, post rock, noise and some spots of south-american folklore, always insisting on thematics dyed of a fine black humor and abstract lyrics. They have toured extensely around Europe, Latin America and Chile, playing with the likes of The Ex, Trans Am, Man or Astroman?, Spermbirds, Boom Boom Kid, Engine Down and Tribute to Nothing, among others. La banda es la confluencia de músicos veteranos sobrevivientes del underground chileno de los 90's. En su estilo, participan confortablemente, elementos del punk rock, hardcore, new wave, metal oscuro, post rock, noise y reminiscencias del folklore latinoamericano, siempre insistiendo en temáticas teñidas de fino humor negro. En sus nueve años , FM ha mantenido un sonido intrincado, denso y energético, siempre con una vision crítica al tradicionalismo en la musica generada en todo el mundo. Los miembros de este proyecto son el guitarrista y vocalista Katafú Rozas, el bajista y vocalista Milo Gomberoff y el baterista, profesor y músico electrónico José Junemann.
